ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY

Doxxed is a radio documentary about the practice of publishing people's information online with the intent to cause harassment or abuse towards them, known as doxxing.

In the 7 minute piece Ellie Smitherman speaks to a variety of participants, including an internet lawyer, victims of doxxing, perpetrators, and a cyber psychologist.
​
The aim of the documentary is to raise awareness of the topic and help people know what to do if they find they have been doxxed.
ABOUT THE CREATOR

Ellie Smitherman is a final year multimedia journalism student at Bournemouth University, originally from Brighton. Since her first year she has had a passion for radio and her top projects have all been radio based, including one looking at the placement of Syrian refugees in the UK school system.

She enjoys tackling the difficult topics and giving a voice to those who don't have one.
